With one
month to go before Yurtyzstan holds its fourth legislative election, socialist
groups have quickly begun to circulate flyers.
The Yurtyzstani Workers’ Party has sent volunteers to Yurtpyitaw, Lhesap,
and Honggang -- Yurtyzstan’s three largest cities, all of which have wavered
significantly in their support for the country’s existing command economy -- to
circulate letters exhorting citizens to “vote to restore the greatness of
Yurtyzstan” and praising communist candidates, such as Party Chairman Oon Em
Pyo Iid, as “torch-bearers of eternal Yurtnara”.
The Yurtyzstani left is expected by analysts to perform poorly in the May
elections, as support for market reforms has drastically risen following the
formation of the capitalist Prosperity for Yurtyzstan Coalition by
revolutionary founder Yurt Kyong-yon in November.
