Heavy snowfall from Winter Storm Euclid

Snowy trees and shrubbery line the banks of the treacherous
Yongkwa River as it rushes past Honggang and Cape Sansit.

Yurtyzstan received snowfall in excess of a foot as Winter Storm Euclid passed over the region last night.

The snow arrives as Yurtyzstan focuses on the provisional government's Construction and Infrastructure Initiative, an effort to quickly rebuild Yurtyzstani settlements to allow for undivided focus on cultural and agricultural development throughout next year. Though reaction to the new snow has been mostly positive, it will provide a considerable setback for workers clearing paths through the depths of the forest. Multiple settlements suffered serious damage, among them the capital of Yurtpyitaw.

This morning, the provisional government issued a reminder via email to Yurtyzstani citizens that travel through Yurtyzstani territory -- particularly along the Chunjiaen and Yongkwa Rivers -- would be difficult and potentially dangerous, and that distinct pathways cleared of snow would probably not be available for several days.

Despite the negative effect, the heavy snowfall has provided a chance to admire Yurtyzstan's landscape. "Since we've been focusing on modernisation and development lately, people forget that Yurtyzstan is a place of unrivalled natural beauty," remarked Yurt Kyong-yon after touring the western enclave this morning. Another Yurtyzstani, construction worker and student at the University of Yurtpyitaw, concurred. "There's really nothing prettier than a snow-covered tree."
