Constitution approved by Yurtyzstani voters

In a referendum from February 22-24, Yurtyzstanis overwhelmingly approved the Constitutional Committee's proposal, allowing the Provisional Government to begin organising parliamentary elections.

"It was a success... The Yurtyzstani people approve it, and so did the government," wrote a jubilant Po Er Kwa Deul, member of the Constitutional Committee and the Provisional Government, in an email to New Light of Yurtyzstan. "We are back on the rails again."

On February 25, after ballots were counted, it was announced that the Constitution had passed with 87 percent of the vote. Voter turnout was 54 percent (15 voters), a 17-point drop from January's referendum; this sharp decrease can likely be explained by an error with the BallotBin online voting system which rendered Yurtyzstani data inaccessible, forcing the government to collect ballots physically.
