Hakimoto announces cultural development initiative

Chairman of the Presidium J.J. Hakimoto has announced a new cultural development programme in a post on the Kamponghkan blog.

The programme is the long-anticipated second part of the platform which won Prosperity for Yurtyzstan an overwhelming majority in the 1 May election; Hakimoto's government has spent the first part of its term planning its market reforms, which are due to finally go into effect 26 September.

Hakimoto emphasised arts and media as crucial to Yurtyzstani cultural growth, and also included the Yurtyzstani language in his outline. He will speak at several rallies this coming week to explain the reforms further, and he will also discuss the reforms in an interview on the resurrected Voice of Yurtyzstan programme.

The reforms, if successful, could cement the dominance of the centre and right in Yurtyzstan; Prosperity for Yurtyzstan, despite enjoying near-unanimous support among Yurtyzstanis, has struggled to navigate potentially destabilising conflicts with the newly marginalised Yurtyzstani left, such as the Weekend for Workers protests in August.
