Joseph Kennedy of Ashukovo, one of the two candidates for Chair of the Grand Unified Micronational in next week's election, left the race today.
M. Kennedy stated that he was withdrawing his candidacy due to inexperience. He accepted the offer of Ciprian of Juclandia, his former opponent, of the office of Vice-Chair. He alluded to the possibility of a future run after gaining experience in that position.
Shortly after M. Kennedy's announcement, King Quentin I of Wyvern announced that he would be running for Chair. Quentin is currently the Supreme Judge of the GUM, and is overseeing the codification of the organisation's conventions.
